Hi! I’m Shawn Tan.

Born, raised, served and studied in Singapore. Worked as a data janitor engineer at Semantics3 in San Francisco, and then as a research minion assistant at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

I did my PhD at the Montreal Institute of Learning Algorithms (MILA) under Aaron Courville, then did pretraining for the Granite models at MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab.
